Pennsylvania state police officer injured in crash

A Pennsylvania State Police officer from the Indiana barracks was hurt when he crashed his cruiser into a utility pole while responding to a call Saturday night.

A news release from the state police said Brennan Herr, 34, received a "minor injury" in the accident.

The news release said the officer was on his way to investigate a report of a shooting when he lost control of his 2011 Ford Crown Victoria and it crashed into a pole on Rhine Road in Center Township, Indiana County, The news release noted that the cruiser's emergency lights and siren were engaged and that there was "excessive gravel" on the road surface.

The officer was not transported from the scene for medical treatment.
