Pittsburgh homicide detectives were searching for a motive in an early morning shooting at a Homewood club that left a Wilkinsburg man and Penn Hills woman dead and several others wounded.
According to a release from Pittsburgh police this afternoon, officers were patrolling at the intersection of North Homewood Avenue and Kelly Street shortly after 3 a.m. when they were approached by a woman who said "I think I'm shot." While officers were assisting her, another female approached who had an apparent gunshot wound to her foot.
Also at about the same time, a male approached officers and said he was the club owner and that there were two people shot inside.
When officers entered the lower level of the club, they found two victims lying on the floor who were unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
They were identified by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office as Demetrius Broadnax, 27, and Jasmine Morris, 21.
Police said there were numerous shell casings found at the scene.
Through their investigation, police learned that two or three other victims showed up at local hospitals with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds they received at the club.
