If you are traveling the Parkway West this morning, watch out for line painting trucks.
Weather permitting, PennDOT plans to repaint lines in both directions from 7:30 a.m. to noon between Beaver County and the Montour Run Road (Exit 58) interchange.
Motorists should stay at least 250 feet -- 13 car lengths -- behind the equipment to avoid damage, PennDOT advised. They also should not pass paint vehicles unless directed to do do. Both the vehicles that cross the lines and the lines may be damaged if the paint isn't dry enough.
Typically, the paint used in lines dries to the touch within two to three minutes.
If paint does get on a vehicle, it should be washed off immediately with a high-pressure water stream and detergent. If the paint is dry, denatured alcohol and a soft cloth should be used.
