Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane announced Friday that two men from Beaver County were arrested for possession of child pornography.
In a news release, Ms. Kane said agents from the state attorney general's office executed a search warrant on the home and computer of Raul Arias, 54, of Freedom, and found dozens of images and videos of child pornography on Thursday.
Mr. Arais was arraigned on with five counts of possession of child pornography,
three counts of distribution of child pornography, and one count of illegal use of a communications facility. He was taken to Beaver County Prison but posted $50,000 bond Friday and was released, according to online court records. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for next Friday.
On Friday, 43-year-old Darren E. Johnson of Beaver Falls was arrested after a search of his computer turned up "large quantities of apparent child pornography." He was arraigned that afternoon on five counts of distribution of child pornography, eight counts of possession of child pornography, and one count of illegal use of a communications facility. He remained in Beaver County Prison today, unable to post $75,000 bond, according to online court records.
Mr. Johnson's preliminary hearing is set for May 2.
Both men will be prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Anthony Marmo of the Attorney General's Child Predator Unit.
