Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller, just a year and a half out of Allderdice High School, has the No. 1 album in the country.

According to Billboard, his debut record, "Blue Slide Park," will top the albums chart this week with sales of 148,915. Released on the locally based Rostrum Records, it is the first independently distributed album to top the charts since 1995's "Tha Dogg Pound."

He is the first Pittsburgh artist to go No. 1 since Christina Aguilera did it with "Back to Basics" in 2006.

Miller's album edged out Michael Buble's "Christmas" (123,000) and "Now 40" (119,000).

The rapper from Point Breeze, currently on a West Coast swing, will bring his Incredibly Dope Tour to Stage AE for sold-out shows Dec. 9-10.
