Pitt tight end Brock DeCicco was not at practice today and has gone home to consider his future.
DeCicco, who is a redshirt sophomore from Thomas Jefferson, is considering transferring to another school because he doesn't feel like he fits in first-year Pitt coach Todd Graham's spread offense.
DeCicco is a traditional pro-style tight end and the Panthers offense utilizes more of a hybrid athlete who is more of an H-back than a tight end.
Coaches have told him to think about things until Saturday before returning to school to discuss his options and come to a final decision.
A Pitt spokesman issued the following statement:
"Brock DeCicco has been excused from practice for personal reasons. We will respectfully decline to comment on his situation until there has been a change in his status."
If DeCicco transfers before the semester begins, he would have to sit out this season then would have two seasons of eligibility.
