TAMPA, Fla. -- Standout defensive end Anthony Zettel has made a verbal commitment to play football for Penn State next season.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pound Zettel, from Ogemaw Heights High School in West Branch, Mich., is rated the No. 65 prospect in the country by Rivals.com and the No. 3 prospect in the state.

He chose the Nittany Lions over Michigan, Michigan State and Iowa.

Zettel had 113 tackles as a senior, including seven sacks, and he forced four fumbles enroute to earning Associated Press All-State honors.

Zettel is the ninth member of Penn State's 2011 recruiting class.
