Pitt linebacker Scott McKillop and punter Dave Brytus were honored by the Big East Conference today for their efforts in Saturday's 21-20 victory against Iowa.
McKillop was named the Big East defensive player of the week for the second time this season after having 10 tackles, three for a loss and a quarterback sack in the victory against the Hawkeyes.
Brytus was named the Big East special teams player of the week for what he did on his eight punts in the Iowa game. He averaged 47.8 yards on those punts, but perhaps most pivotal was his punt with 2:28 remaining and Pitt holding a one-point lead. That is when Brytus drilled a 57-yard punt that rolled out of bounds at the Iowa 1.
