Republican Mark DeSantis raised more money than Mayor Luke Ravenstahl in the run-up to the mayoral election Nov. 6, but the incumbent Democrat still has a huge fundraising edge over his GOP rival.
Mr. DeSantis raised $200,000 from June through Oct. 22, and $285,000 counting in-kind contributions from Republican political action committees. Mr. Ravenstahl raised $131,000 during the period but carried forward another $714,000 raised earlier. The mayor's campaign spent twice as much as the Republican's during the period, spending $296,000 to Mr. DeSantis's $152,000.
The campaign finance reports were filed today with the Allegheny County elections division.
