Pirates to name Huntington GM

CHICAGO -- The Pirates will name Neal Huntington, currently an advance scout with the Cleveland Indians, their new general manager, probably on Tuesday.

"He's going to get the job," an industry source said today.

Huntington, 37, was Cleveland's assistant minor league director -- under current Pirate interim general manager Brian Graham -- in 1997. He became the Indians' minor league director in November, 1998, then was named assistant general manager in November, 2001.

Currently an advance scout, Huntington also is working on planning the Indians' new spring training complex near Phoenix.
