Penguins center Angelo Esposito will not participate in a four-team rookie tournament because of a groin injury.

Esposito, the Penguins' first-round draft choice in June, will continue his rehabilitation and is scheduled to particpate when the Penguins' training camp opens Sept. 13.

The rookie tournament, which will begin later this week in Kitchener, Ontario, will feature prospects from the Penguins, Toronto, Ottawa and Florida.

Defenseman Alex Goligoski will miss the tournament while recovering from shoulder surgery and center Keven Veilleux will not take part because of surgery to repair a sports hernia.
