A rare copy of the first book ever printed in Northern America -- the Bay Psalm Book -- will be on display for one day only, Wednesday, at the Cleveland Public Library.
The book's exhibition in Cleveland is part of a cross-country tour before it goes on the auction block at Sotheby's Nov. 26 in New York.
The pre-sale estimate is between $15 million to $30 million, said David Redden, chair of Sotheby's books department, who will oversee the auction.
The Bay Psalm Book was printed in 1640 and is one of 11 of the original 1,700 copies surviving. It is one of two copies belonging to the Old South Church in Boston, which will use the proceeds to benefit its mission and ministry.
The book will be on display at the library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, before being moved to St. Louis and other cities, including Dallas, San Francisco and Houston and finishing its tour in Boston.
