
 Causes of Infertility
(One-fourth of couples have more than one problem)
Male sperm problems:
Low quantity or quality affect 40 percent of infertile couples
Blocked fallopian tubes:
Prevents fertilization for 35 percent of infertile couples.
Poor ovulation:
It becomes more likely as women age and affects 25 percent of infertile couples.
Endometriosis:
Disease found in about 35 percent of women who have no other diagnosable infertility
problem.
Other causes:
Poor cervical mucus clogs sperm; uterine lining unable to retain implanted embryo;
