After 29 years in the same location on Lebanon Church Road in West Mifflin, the owner and president of Dean Honda, Steve Sherman, decided that his business was ready for a change.

“We needed a new facility with more customer amenities,” said Mr. Sherman. “Sort of like when a pro sports team builds a new stadium.”

In September of last year, the family-owned dealership moved into its newly-built building at the intersection of Route 51 and Lewis Run Road in Pleasant Hills.

“Our new facility is a very customer-focused and customer-friendly facility,” said Mr. Sherman. “It was carefully designed to make the customer experience much better. Customers can buy, service and keep their cars clean all at one convenient location.”

In addition to a parking lot and showroom, the new facility features a 3 Bay car wash that’s open to the public, a vehicle delivery section and a state-of-the-art service center with drive-in service lanes.

“You don’t have to worry about the weather when you bring your car in to us for service or an oil change,” said Mr. Sherman. “Just drive inside our service lanes and drop off your car. We’ll do the rest.”

And picking up your car is just as easy.

“When your car is ready,” said Mr. Sherman. “You pick it up inside.”

In addition to convenience, Dean Honda offers other perks to its service customers.

“All service customers receive a free carwash and a free multi-point inspection which includes alignment checks, battery checks and having your car’s fluids topped off,” said Mr. Sherman. “All makes and models!”

The dealership also has a large fleet of courtesy cars in case you need wheels while your car is being serviced.

And when you buy any new or used car at Dean Honda, you receive free carwashes for the first year and free state inspections for life for all of the cars in your immediate household.

Mr. Sherman has received positive feedback from his customers on all of the new features of the new facility, but the one that his customers use the most is the car wash.

“We wash the cars for two, soon to be three, police departments, so it gets round-the-clock usage,” he said.

The new three-bay, 24-hour carwash is open every day of the year including holidays.

Another unique feature that Dean Honda offers is its free New Owners Clinics where experienced instructor, Greg Thomas teaches new car owners about the high tech components of their new vehicles. Some of the topics that are discussed include pairing Bluetooth with a cellphone, explaining a car’s internet features, and showing drivers how to use cruise control and adjust the seats.

“Basically, the clinic is about explaining what each button in the car means and what it can do for you,” said Mr. Sherman. “There are a lot of new features on cars today, especially Hondas. We want to help you get the most out of your new vehicle.”

The dealership started offering the clinics in 2011 and the response from customers has been great.

“People tell me all of the time how much they appreciate them,” said Mr. Sherman. “Some people come back multiple times. They say that they learn something new each time.”

If customers aren’t able to attend a clinic, Mr. Thomas is also available to answer their questions by phone or email.
