Irish singing, dancing

An evening of Irish traditional singing, dancing, storytelling and music making will be presented by In Two Minds at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church, 416 W. First Friday Ellsworth

Two sites will be open tonight for Shadyside's FirstFriday ArtWalk. Morgan Contemporary Glass, 5833 Ellsworth Ave., will feature 80 works by 60 artists between 5:30 and 9 p.m. in the seventh invitational "teapots!" exhibition (412-441-5200, through June 11). GalleriE CHIZ, 5831 Ellsworth, will hold an artists' reception from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. for "Flying Bird to River Town and More ...," Tim Menees' paintings and Holly VanDine's ceramics (412-441-6005, through April 27). Both are free.

Cast of Characters

An opening for "Cast of Characters," curated by Vicky Clark and Cindy Lisica, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust 709 Penn Gallery, 709 Penn Ave., Downtown (free). Six participants use the visual language of comics, punk and youth or street culture in works that question the nature of existence. They are Mr. (Charles) Glaubitz, Tijuana; Mark Newport, Detroit; Rei Sato, Tokyo and Taipei; Jeff Schwarz, Brooklyn; Janet Towbin, Phoenix; and FriendsWithYou, Los Angeles. The exhibition continues through May 17.
