Zachary Quinto returns to Pittsburgh Feb. 3 to host event at Point Park University, which will be home to the documentary series "The Chair."
Chris Moore and actor Zachary Quinto, producing partners in the making of the documentary TV series “The Chair,” will host a lecture and kickoff celebration at Point Park on Monday, Feb. 3, where they’re scheduled to discuss the business of filmmaking with Point Park students and the university community. The event will be streamed live on the university’s YouTube channel and remote participants will have the opportunity to ask questions on Twitter via @PointParkCinema.
This will be the first of several events Moore and Quinto will host at Point Park, where will support the TV series -- in which two directors will create feature films from the same script. The production offices will be located on campus in Point Park's West Penn Hall. Students and alumni representing the Conservatory of Performing Arts, School of Business and School of Communication will work on and off set in production-based roles and students will have the opportunity to audition for roles in the films.
“The Chair” will chronicle each director’s journey to make the best film, and the winner will be chosen by audience vote. The show will air on a paid cable channel this fall. The winning director will receive a yearlong filmmaker’s package in Los Angeles to pursue his or her dream of becoming a Hollywood director. Shane Dawson and Anna Martemucci, both from Los Angeles, are the competing directors.
