When it comes to TV news reporters choosing their spots for live remotes, there isn't a handbook of do's and don'ts.

But WPXI's Courtney Brennan probably will be on the alert the next time she's in State College.

Ms. Brennan and a station cameraman were shooting a report from the street in front of Jerry Sandusky's house Thursday when Mr. Sandusky's wife, Dottie, drove up. In the video footage, Ms. Brennan abruptly stops talking, then she and the cameraman hustle out of the car's path as it speeds up the driveway.

"I locked eyes with her, and she just gunned it," Ms. Brennan later told a radio station.

"She was in the street but not blocking the driveway by any stretch of the imagination," WPXI news director Mike Goldrick said.

"Our reporters know how to comport themselves in the street."

Mr. Sandusky's attorney, Joe Amendola, was in a car following Mrs. Sandusky. He stopped to grant an interview.

The video went viral over the weekend, as news sites ranging from the Huffington Post to ESPN to London's Daily Mail picked up the story.

As of Monday, the YouTube clip had picked up almost 235,000 views, with a colorful assortment of comments. Some viewers expressed anger with TV reporters in general, while others took yet another opportunity to make jokes about Mr. Sandusky.
