This week's TV Q&A responds to questions about Regis Philbin, TV shows in syndication and local cable systems.

As always, thanks for reading, and keep those questions coming.

-- Rob Owen, Post-Gazette TV editor

Q: Several months ago, I read that Regis Philbin was signed to do a new version of "This is Your Life." I've not heard anything recently, and with him now doing "America's Got Talent," it doesn't seem to leave much time for him to add another show to his busy schedule. Is it still in the works?

-- Trudi, Pittsburgh

Rob: It was in the works at ABC, but Philbin is no longer attached. Broadcasting & Cable reported last month that an option on Philbin's contract expired, and he declined to renew it. ABC may still go forward with the show with a different host.

Q: ABC recently ran two "50th Anniversary Blooper" specials on different weekends with Dick Clark in very fine form. From what I could tell, he showed no signs of his stroke. Were these taped before his stroke and saved until now? Or were they taped with a post-stroke, rehabilitated Clark, which I find hard to believe after seeing him this past New Year's Eve?

-- Bill, Albany, N.Y.

Rob: You saw a rerun of a program that originally aired in 2003, before Clark had his stroke.

Q: Since "The Simpsons" is bumping "Friends" on WPGH, where will "Friends" end up?

-- Jordan, Pittsburgh

Rob: At 7 and 7:30 p.m. weeknights on WPMY, Channel 22.

Q: Speaking of syndication, do you know if any of the local stations will continue to run the two "Stargate" shows and "Farscape"? As you know, they're currently on channels 19 and 22. Thanks.

-- Sarah, Ross

Rob: "Farscape" will continue to air on Channel 22 at 10 p.m.

On Channel 19, "Stargate Atlantis" will air at 4 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. Monday. "Stargate SG-1" will air at 5 p.m. Saturday. Station manager Rich Davis advises fans with a keen interest in these shows to watch the listings carefully.

"We have a number of sports commitments this fall that will likely disrupt our normal weekend schedules," Davis said.

Q: Now that Comcast officially owns the Adelphia systems around Pittsburgh (even my auto-deducted bill payment references Comcast already), how soon can we expect (re: force) them to add Fox HD to the channel lineup?

-- Tony, Murrysville

You might think the carriage contracts Comcast has with WPGH owner Sinclair would carry over when they acquire a system, but that does not appear to be the case.

"We are evaluating our channel lineups," a Comcast spokeswoman said. "There will be no immediate changes to customer video service or channel lineups."

I'm afraid you're going to have to continue to wait.
