There's a lot to look forward to this summer in the theater community, so get out your datebooks and start planning ...

Not to be missed is Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre's celebration of playwright Harold Pinter. PinterCelebration will bring six plays to the stage, including the rarely seen "The Hot House"; his last work, "Celebration"; and a staged reading series. It will be performed by an ensemble of just 13 actors including David Whalen, Richard McMillan and Sam Tsoutsouvas, to name a few.

Look for Pittsburgh CLO Cabaret to introduce "S'wonderful," a new musical based on the music of George and Ira Gershwin. CLO is also bringing in Italian cabaret star Giada Valenti for one performance on May 17.

Lastly, summer just isn't right without August ... Wilson, that is. Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre is currently running "Jitney," with Sala Udin reprising the role he played in the original 1982 production. Across town, "Radio Golf" will come alive on the stage at Kuntu Repertory Theatre. Don't wait -- tickets are going fast.
