Kristine Opolais will sing the title role of Mary Zimmerman's new production of Dvorak's "Rusalka."

The Metropolitan Opera will broadcast 10 opera performances at movie theaters next season for the company’s Live in HD series. Four theaters in the Pittsburgh area screen the live broadcasts, which includes “L’amour de loin,” a 2000 opera by the Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho, and a new production of Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.
Cinemark theaters in Robinson, Pittsburgh Mills near Tarentum, Monroeville Mall and McCandless Crossing present the Saturday afternoon simulcasts at the same time as the Met’s radio broadcasts on WQED-FM. Encore broadcasts take place at the cinemas the following Wednesday evening.
All performances start at 12:55 p.m. unless noted.
Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde,” noon Oct. 8, with Nina Stemme (Isolde) and Stuart Skelton (Tristan). Sir Simon Rattle conducts the new production, staged by Mariusz Trelinski.
Mozart’s “Don Giovanni,” Oct. 22, with Simon Keenlyside (Don Giovanni) and former Pittsburgh Opera resident artist Rolando Villazon (Don Ottavio). Fabio Luisi conducts the Michael Grandage production.
Saariaho’s “L’amour de loin,” Dec. 10, with Susanna Phillips (Clemence), Eric Owens (Jaufre Rudel) and Tamara Mumford (The Pilgrim). Susanna Malkki conducts the production by Robert Lepage.
Verdi’s “Nabucco,” Jan. 7, 2017, with Placido Domingo in the title role, Liudmyla Monastyrska (Abigaille) and Jamie Barton (Fenena). James Levine conducts the Elijah Moshinsky production.
Gounoud’s “Romeo et Juliette,” Jan. 21, 2017, with Diana Damrau (Juliette) and Vittorio Grigolo (Romeo). The Bartlett Sher staging is conducted by Gianandrea Noseda.
Dvorak’s “Rusalka,” Feb. 25, 2017, with Kristine Opolais (Rusalka), Brandon Jovanovich (The Prince) and Katarina Dalayman (The Foreign Princess). Sir Mark Elder conducts the Mary Zimmerman production.
Verdi’s “La Traviata,” March 11, 2017, with Sonya Yoncheva (Violetta Valery), Michael Fabiano (Alfredo Germont) and Thomas Hampson (Giorgio Germont). Nicola Luisotti conducts the production by Willy Decker.
Mozart’s “Idomeneo,” March 25, 2017, with Matthew Polenzani in the title role, Elza van den Heever (Elettra) and Nadine Sierra (Ilia). The Jean-Pierre Ponnelle production is conducted by Mr. Levine.
Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin,” April 22, 2017, with Anna Netrebko (Tatiana) and Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Onegin). Robin Ticciati conducts the production by Deborah Warner.
Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier,” 12:30 p.m. May 13, 2017, with Renee Fleming (Marschallin) and Elina Garanca (Octavian). Mr. Levine conducts the staging by Robert Carsen.
