The Grateful Dead “Fare Thee Well” in Chicago last summer was not quite the end.
Dead & Company will launch a summer tour that stops at the First Niagara Pavilion on July 13.
It will feature Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann (but not bassist Phil Lesh) with singer/guitarist John Mayer, Allman Brothers’ bassist Oteil Burbridge and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti.
Tickets are $40 to $149.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 13 at LiveNation.com, with presale tickets available beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday at www.deadandcompany.com. Fans with the Live Nation mobile app will have access to a password-free presale starting 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Ticketmaster-ticketed venues. The app is available via the App Store and Google Play.
Dead & Company will make their late-night debut on Thursday, Feb. 18 on “The Tonight Show.”
The Grateful Dead did its last performance here at Three Rivers Stadium on June 30, 1995, just before Jerry Garcia’s death in August. Since then, we’ve gotten such Dead spinoffs and side projects as The Other Ones, RatDog, Phil Lesh & Friends and Mickey Hart’s bands.
