You don't normally expect concert announcements at a concert -- from the artist himself -- especially when it's Bruce Springsteen.
But on Tuesday night at Consol Energy Center, the Boss let the sold-out crowd know that he will be back in May to play a two-night stand at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall in Oakland with Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers. They played there together in 2010 and 2011 and Springsteen returned in 2012 for an Obama campaign event.
The concerts are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, May 22 and 23. Also appearing will be Milly featuring Seth and Johnny from The Composure.
Tickets are reserved at $85, $100 and $125 and are on sale now at 10 a.m. at all Ticketmaster Outlets or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
