Fiddler concert on tap in Aspinwall

Kevin Burke, an acclaimed Irish fiddler whose resume includes stints with Christy Moore and the Bothy Band, will be joined by singer-songwriter Cal Scott for a concert at 8 tonight at Community United Methodist Church, 400 Center Ave., Aspinwall.

The duo's release "Across the Black River" was selected by The New York Times as "one of the top 12 world music CDs of 2007." The concert is at 8 p.m. Admission is $20.

Also tonight, Mark Dignam & Friends, led by the Dublin native and Pittsburgh resident, perform The Calm Before the Storm: A Night of Irish Traditional Music and Song at Club Cafe, South Side. It's at 8 p.m. Admission $10.
