The Virginia Glee Club will perform as part of the Music in a Great Space series at Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 5121 Westminster Place, at 4 p.m. Directed by Grammy winner Frank Albinder, the group is the oldest musical organization at the University of Virginia. A cyber symposium on Pittsburgh legend and renowned jazz pianist Mary Lou Williams takes place 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The symposium includes improvised piano duets by musicians hundreds of miles apart, pieces of a film about Williams and discussions with scholars. Hosted by the University of Pittsburgh, the symposium will stream live at www.music.pitt.edu.


Good Fridays at The Andy Warhol Museum, 117 Sandusky St., North Side, are free in March. This Friday, from 5-10 p.m., there will be a cash bar and music by DJ Shawn Watson, specializing in an all-vinyl set of funk, punk, reggae and rock. For more info: www.warhol.org.


Comedian, actor and impressionist extraordinaire Frank Caliendo will perform at the Pittsburgh Improv, 166 E. Bridge St., The Stacks at the Waterfront in Homestead. Mr. Caliendo, best known for "MADtv" and "Frank TV," more recently has displayed his talents as a guest on ESPN's "Mike & Mike" and Fox TV's "Fox NFL Sunday." The Pittsburgh Sneaker Convention will be held at the Circuit Center, 5 Hot Metal St., South Side, from 1-7 p.m. The sneaker convention and pop-up shop is for sneaker lovers to buy, sell or trade their timeless, custom and limited-edition footwear. Popular shops and online boutiques will be on site. Entertainment will be anchored by DJ Klark Kent, with celebrity guests. Attendees are encouraged to bring unused and gently worn shoes to donate to the Salvation Army and enter a raffle to win a $100 gift certificate to Footlocker.
