MTV to honor Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx will receive the "Generation Award" at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards airing at 9 tonight.

The Generation Award acknowledges an actor who can be counted on to engage the MTV audience with everything he does.

Brad Pitt will present the movie of the year award while "Game of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage will give the Comedic Genius Award to Will Ferrell (both famously starred in "Elf").

Leading the pack for the awards, with seven nominations each, are "Django Unchained" and "Ted," followed by "Silver Linings Playbook" with six and "The Dark Knight Rises," five.

Rounding out the most nominated films are "The Avengers," "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," "Pitch Perfect" and "Skyfall" with four each.
