'Noah'

Rated: PG-13.

Suitable for: Teens and above.

What you should know: This is a big-budget dramatization of the Biblical story of Noah, who follows God's instructions to build an ark and save himself, his family and pairs of animals, as the creator cleanses the wicked with a great flood. Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly star in the Darren Aronofsky epic that takes some liberties with the story from Genesis.

Language: None.

Sexual situations and nudity: A husband and wife kiss, and a young man begins to take off his shirt and embrace a young woman in a prelude to an intimate encounter, which is not shown.

Violence/scary situations: Many, many people die, either in the flood or from stabbings, fights, assaults on the ark or other violent confrontations. Young women are dragged off into the woods for apparent abuse, someone is caught in a metal trap and trampled to death, innocents face the possibility of being stabbed to death, and there are shots of corpses or skulls along with the unmistakable cries of people being swallowed by the rising waters. A woman cries out with the pain of childbirth.

Drug or alcohol use: A man indulges in what appears to be wine made from freshly grown grapes.
