Coinciding with the paperback release of his latest novel "Telegraph Avenue," Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Chabon, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh's creative writing program, is returning for a book signing and discussion at 6 p.m. Sept. 16 at Barnes & Noble at The Waterfront, Homestead.

After his 1989 debut novel "The Mysteries of Pittsburgh" put him on the literary map, Mr. Chabon has scarcely stopped writing to catch his breath.

He continues to turn out two or three influential and well-reviewed books every decade along with short story anthologies and essays. The author of "Wonder Boys," "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay," "Summerland" and "The Yiddish Policemen's Union" refuses to rest on his laurels with "Telegraph Avenue," an ambitious exploration of race, class, marriage, obsession and fractured family life.

Mr. Chabon has a huge local fan base and will stick around as long as necessary to sign copies of "Telegraph Avenue." Call 412-462-5743 for details.
