Canadian wins Pitt Press poetry prize

Glenn Shaheen, a 31-year-old Canadian, is the winner of this year's $5,000 Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize awarded by the University of Pittsburgh Press.

His first book, "Predatory," was selected by Edward Ochester, editor of the Pitt Poetry Series. He teaches at Prairie View A&M University in Texas.

The prize includes publication by the Pitt Press.
