The William McKinley Library and Museum in Canton, Ohio, is planning two events to raise funds to acquire Ida McKinley's tiara for its collection.

The first will be a "Diamond Soiree" at 6 p.m. April 30 at the museum.

The cocktail party will include drinks, hors d'oeuvres and a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum and library.

Tickets cost $500 per person. More information is available at www.mckinleymuseum.org or 1-330-455-7043.

Guitarist Steve Ball will perform "An Evening of Civil War Music" at 7 p.m. June 5 at the museum. Mr. Ball, who is donating his services, plays a Civil War-era guitar. The instrument is part of his collection of mid-18th-century guitars and sheet music that he will bring to the event. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Credit- and debit-card donations can be made through the museum website or by check made out to the Ida McKinley Tiara Fund and sent to the McKinley Presidential Library and Museum, 800 McKinley Monument Drive NW, Canton, OH 44708.
