Sarah Minnaert, director of exhibitions at Carnegie Museum of Art since 2010, has been appointed deputy director.

The promotion makes her a key member of the museum’s management team.

Ms. Minnaert, 38, of Point Breeze, will be second-in-command to museum director Lynn Zelevansky. Ms. Minnaert worked with Ms. Zelevansky at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art before moving to Pittsburgh in 2010 to serve as director of exhibitions.

She will oversee organizational initiatives and planning while continuing to oversee exhibitions and the museum’s operating budget. She also will align the museum’s installation departments, including conservation, registration, art preparation and exhibitions staff.

Exhibitions that are scheduled during the next two years include Old Master prints, contemporary photography and modern industrial design.
