SUNDAY

"Skate With Santa" at the Schenley Park Skating Rink, Overlook Drive, at 1:30 p.m. The festivities include music and refreshments. MONDAY

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's concertmaster, Noah Bendix-Balgley, will put down his classsical violin to pick up a klezmer one. OK, they are the same instrument, but it will be the first time the klezmer buff (he has played with groups such as Brave Old World) will perform klezmer in town. The free concert will showcase tunes such as "Der Heyser Bulgar." Co-presented by Music at Rodef Shalom and the Pittsburgh Jewish Music Festival, the ensemble of PSO musicians takes place at 8 p.m. at Rodef Shalom Congregation, Shadyside.

TUESDAY

Maureen and David Budway perform "Holidays the BudWay" as part of The Mansions on Fifth Grand Hall Concert Series, 5105 Fifth Ave., Shadyside, at 6:30 p.m. Reservations required. WEDNESDAY

THURSDAY

Aaron Kleiber will appear at the Pittsburgh Improv, 166 E. Bridge St., at The Waterfront at Homestead. Mr. Kleiber, known for his hilarious local commercials for the Pittsburgh Power, Pennsylvania Lottery and Highmark, was named Best Local Comedian by Pittsburgh Magazine in July 2012. He also has been seen in national commercials and featured on the big screen co-starring in "Help Me, Help You" opposite Sabrina Byran ("Cheetah Girls," "Dancing With the Stars"), with Steve Guttenberg ("Police Academy") and Richard Kind ("Spin City"). He also was featured in the original series "The Mercury Men" seen at San Diego Comic-Con and on Syfy. THURSDAY-NEXT SUNDAY

Marvin Hamlisch will be greatly missed when the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's Highmark Holiday Pops concerts return to Heinz Hall. The longtime principal pops conductor led many a holiday pops concerts before his death in August. Former PSO resident conductor Daniel Meyer leads the orchestra, Pittsburgh's "Singing Sheriff" Ricky Manning, as well as vocalist Rachel DeShon and the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. 7:30 p.m. Thursday; 8 p.m. Friday; 2:30 and 8 p.m. Saturday; and 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. next Sunday. $20-$98, 412-392-4900; www.pittsburghsymphony.org.
