Wrapping Up: Todd concludes tenure with PSO
Wednesday, October 29, 2003 By Andrew Druckenbrod, Post-Gazette Classical Music Critic
Thomas Todd concluded his tenure as the president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra yesterday at its annual meeting.A partner at the law firm of Reed Smith, Todd has served a five-year term as the chief volunteer.
"In the 30 years that I have been involved in nonprofits, I have never seen a volunteer who has worked so tirelessly," said PSO chairman Richard Simmons.
Todd and his wife, Jamee, never missed a PSO tour during his tenure. His role increased this year as he served as spokesman for the PSO after the departure of managing director Gideon Toeplitz. Until new CEO Lawrence Tamburri officially takes over in January, he and Simmons will share the duties of running the orchestra.
