![]() Talking Pittsburgh with Kevin Glavin
Friday, November 15, 2002 By Andrew Druckenbrod, Post-Gazette Classical Music Critic
Vivica Genaux is not the only nationally known, locally based singer in Pittsburgh Opera's production of "La Cenerentola."
Bass Kevin Glavin, who will play the role of Don Magnifico, is a native Pittsburger. He is a past winner of the Luciano Pavarotti Competition and has starred in basso buffo roles with the New York City Opera, Glimmerglass, Boston Lyric Opera and others.
He may be able to sing in five languages, but he still speaks yinzer. Just to make sure, we thought we'd quiz him on himself, the 'burgh and beyond.
