Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Pittsburgh-based child advocacy organization KidsVoice will present an advance screening of the second-season premiere of CBS's "The Guardian" at 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Byham Theater.

Admission is free, but to attend you must obtain a voucher in advance at www.kidsvoiceorg.com or by calling 412-391-3100. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and remaining seats will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis at 5:45 p.m.

A patrons reception to benefit KidsVoice will follow at 7 p.m. in the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel Ballroom. Tickets cost $125 per person. They can be purchased by calling the same number.

"The Guardian" has its second-season premiere Sept. 24.

The Pittsburgh-set legal drama was created by Mt. Lebanon native David Hollander.

His brother, KidsVoice executive director Scott Hollander, is the show's technical consultant.

A grand grand piano

A grand piano with a case designed by artist Dale Chihuly and worth $365,000 will be on display this weekend and beyond in Pittsburgh. The Steinway & Sons' artcase piano is a 9-foot concert grand that was introduced at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. It features a multi-color glass artwork lid and is green with orange and yellow keys.

It can be viewed from noon to 5 p.m. tomorrow at Heinz Hall, and from Wednesday through Sept. 13 at the Trombino Piano Gallerie, Downtown.

First preference for seating will go to those who attended Thursday's rained-out show. Others will be admitted on a first-come first-serve basis.

Doors open at 7 p.m.
