![]() Special books mark Pooh anniversary
Wednesday, October 10, 2001
Here's a list of Pooh-related books released in special editions for the 75th anniversary. All are published by Dutton and feature gold "75th anniversary" stickers on their covers:
"The Complete Tales & Poems of Winnie-the-Pooh" by A.A. Milne, $40.
An elegant boxed set of Milne's two Pooh books: "Winnie-the-Pooh" and "The House at Pooh Corner" ($30).
"Three Cheers for Winnie-the-Pooh," a brief history of Milne and Pooh that has lots of photos and illustrations, by Brian Sibley ($22.99).
There are also audio tapes and CDs of the Pooh books. Penguin has reworked the 1997 readings of the books by the late Charles Kuralt into a special book and CD set: "The Best of Winnie-the-Pooh" ($25). The original unabridged audio tapes that Kuralt made are currently out of print.
In addition, there is a BBC Radio production of the Pooh books, presented on four audio tapes and narrated by British actor Alan Bennett. The set is published by Bantam Doubleday Dell and costs $22.
