PG HIRES PATRICK SCANLON AS DIRECTOR OF INTERACTIVE MEDIA

PITTSBURGH, May 15, 2009 – The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has named Patrick Scanlon Director of Interactive Media, effective Monday, May 18, 2009.

Scanlon comes to the Post-Gazette most recently from The Americast Media Network Inc., where he was the executive publisher, working with more than 100 newspapers in 23 states on the creation of newspaper content management tools. Prior to that role, Scanlon both founded and led several successful technology start-ups within the news and information industry.

I am confident in his ability to lead our aggressive investment in new media products and platforms that reflect the evolving needs of our audience and advertisers,” said Chris Chamberlain, the Post-Gazette's General Manager and Executive Vice President.

Scanlon will be responsible for overseeing initiatives that grow the Post-Gazette's online revenue and increase viewership of post-gazette.com and its associated web sites, e-mail products, and mobile applications.
