'SNL' salutes Rogers
NBC's "Saturday Night Live," which poked fun at Fred Rogers in "Mister Robinson's Neighborhood" skits during the Eddie Murphy years, offered a respectful, sincere tribute in Saturday's show, the first live broadcast since Rogers' death on Feb. 27.
Late in the broadcast, cast member Horatio Sanz, wearing a yellow cardigan sweater, sat alone on a darkened stage and sang Rogers' "You Are Special."
"Thanks, Mister Rogers," Sanz said afterwards as a trolley scooted past on the stage behind him.
