Steelers Huntley could miss game against Titans

Tuesday, September 19, 2000

By Ed Bouchette, Post-Gazette Sports Writer

The Steelers might gain one player and lose another to injury this week.

Halfback Richard Huntley, who left in the first half of the 23-20 loss Sunday at Cleveland with a hamstring pull, was scheduled to have an MRI on his left leg yesterday afternoon to determine the extent of the injury.

He missed all five exhibition games because of a left hamstring injury but returned to play in the two regular season games. He scored a touchdown on a 4-yard run in the second quarter Sunday, then sustained the injury running a pass route.

Lee Flowers, the starting strong safety who missed Sunday's game with a groin pull, ran yesterday and said he is much better. He predicted he will play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans at Three Rivers Stadium.

Troy Edwards, who did not play Sunday because of a hamstring injury, did not run yesterday. He said he thought he could play against the Browns, but the trainers told him otherwise. He hopes to run tomorrow but said he is "day to day" and will wait to see what the trainers advise later in the week.

Defensive end Chris Sullivan also left Sunday's game with back spasms.
