Three new verbal commitments have joined the Pitt Panthers' 2014 recruiting class.
Fox Chapel linebacker Quintin Wirginis, Staunton (Va.) defensive lineman Mike Herndon and Wallingford (Conn.) defensive lineman Connor Dintino were the latest to give their pledge to Pitt coach Paul Chryst.
Herndon is one of the biggest recruits in Pitt's 2014 class so far, listed at 6-foot-4, 320 pounds. Rivals.com pegs him as a three-star recruit and he chose Pitt over offers from Connecticut, Virginia Tech and Western Michigan.
Wirginis is the third WPIAL player to join this year's Pitt class, joining Bethel Park offensive lineman Mike Grimm and Shady Side Academy running back Dennis Briggs. He also had an offer from Temple.
Dintino is also listed as a three-star recruit on Rivals, and held Division I-A offers from Buffalo and Connecticut.
The three commitments bring Pitt's 2014 class to 10 after having just two verbal pledges entering this week.
As rising seniors, none of the players can officially sign their letters of intent until Feb. 5, 2014.
