Former Pitt running back Rushel Shell has decided to transfer to UCLA, according to multiple reports.
Shell, who left Pitt midway through its spring practices earlier this month, spent this weekend at UCLA's campus and has told the coaching staff that he will join the Bruins.
Monday night, Shell posted "Bruins!!!!!!" and "UCLA" on his personal Twitter account.
Shell was slated to be the Panthers' running back heading into 2013, but a number of issues led to him to opt for a transfer. Last year, he rushed for 641 yards as a freshman.
Shell requested a release from Pitt to transfer to Cal, UCLA, Arizona or Arizona State. Pitt blocked the moves to Arizona and Arizona State because of concerns over former Panther coaches on the staffs.
Shell will have to sit out the 2013 season, per NCAA regulations, and will be eligible to play for the Bruins in 2014.
