TAMPA, Fla. -- Pitt secured bowl eligibility for the fifth consecutive season Saturday night with a 27-3 victory against South Florida.
Panthers running back Ray Graham broke the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career with 94 yards on the ground, and quarterback Tino Sunseri passed 3,000 yards on the season with 211 yards on 19 of 25 passing.
Pitt's offense moved in fits and starts early but got rolling in the second half. The Panthers also took advantage of four South Florida turnovers to stifle the Bulls' offense.
The Panthers held South Florida to 121 total yards on the night and just 12 rushing yards.
Now, the Panthers will likely wait until Sunday to learn their bowl fate, which could be a third consecutive trip to the BBVA Compass Bowl in Birmingham, Ala.
